On September 22, 2026, the Rotary Club of Roxas, Quezon City brought not only books but opportunities, inspiration, and hope to its adopted school, Manuel A. Roxas High School, through the club’s continuing book donation drive, “Pages for Progress.”
More or less 200 preloved books, generously donated by different individuals and supporters, were turned over to the school. Each book, once part of someone else’s reading journey, now begins a new chapter in the hands of students who may find knowledge, inspiration, and new dreams within its pages. PP Ernesto “Boy” Perlas also personally donated books, adding to the meaningful collection.
The initiative traces its roots to the term of IPP Wilyn Fenete, who started the book donation project with the help and initiative of Rtn. Jane Gabriel. During her term, the project reached several schools, transforming donated books into valuable learning resources for young learners.
Aligned with Rotary’s Basic Education and Literacy Area of Focus, the project aims to promote reading, support education, and provide schools and learners with greater access to learning materials. More than just books, this project gives students pages filled with knowledge, stories filled with inspiration, and possibilities waiting to be discovered.
The beneficiaries are the students and teachers of Manuel A. Roxas High School, who can use these books to enrich learning and encourage a lasting love for reading.
Through Pages for Progress, RC Roxas QC continues to show that when people share what they have, even a preloved book can open a brand-new chapter in someone’s life.
