GOVERNOR’S MONTHLY LETTER AUGUST 2026 Rooting Hope, Growing Tomorrow: Planting Trees, Nurturing a Sustainable Future By: TLP Lay Lanie Chua The Rotary Club of Roxas, QC demonstrated its commitment to environmental stewardship by successfully conducting a TreePlanting Project on July 25, 2026, at Brgy.Cuyambay, Tanay, Rizal. The initiative was led by LegacyPresident Lay Lanie Chua, with dedicated coordination from Past President Edgardo Santibañez, the club's Service Project Chair. He worked closely with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) to ensure the project's success. The program began with a prayer, followed by an orientation conducted by MENRO personnel on the proper handling and planting of tree seedlings. This equipped the volunteers with the knowledge needed to maximize the survival and growth of every tree planted, emphasizing that environmental service is most effective when paired with education and responsible action. The journey to the planting site was far from easy. Club members endured long travel, navigated steep terrain, and trekked through muddy roads made slippery by recent rains. Despite these physical challenges, every participant remained steadfast and united by a shared purpose. Every seedling planted represented more than an environmental effort. It symbolized hope, resilience, and a shared commitment to securing a greener future. The project not only contributed to forest restoration and soil conservation but also strengthened environmental awareness among community members, encouraging them to take an active role in protecting their natural resources. Through the leadership of Legacy President Lay Lanie Chua and the collective dedication of its members and partners, the Rotary Club of Roxas QC demonstrated that lasting impact, as the trees we planted today will continue to provide cleaner air, reduce soil erosion, preserve biodiversity, and serve as a living legacy of Rotary's unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship for generations to come.
